Like the previous
edition, it was crowd galore as a
massive number of residents of Ikorodu
trooped out to participate in a marathon ‘Woro’ procession as the much awaited
2019 Ikorodu -Oga Carnival kicked off today in grandstyle.
The event, which usually flags off the annual celebration, took off in the early hours of the day from the
Ikorodu town hall where the Chairman, Ikorodu -Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, led a
cheering crowd of Ikorodu indigenes and residents in a fun filled procession along
major streets in Ikorodu.
The procession train briefly stopped over at several historic and traditional houses and shrines to pay homage.
The procession later terminated at the Ayangbure palace
where different traditional groups and sects in Ikorodu displayed their
traditional heritages while Oba Kabir Shotobi and other dignitaries were on
ground to savour the fun offered by the gathering.
Asa, Igunuko, and Eyo among other masquerades added colour to the ‘Woro’ procession.
